The second part of the DATA PERFUME project. Guardian Angels is being produced to coincide with the exhibition Vous n’avez pas besoin d’y croire pour que ça existe1, written by Théo Casciani, at the Frac des Pays de la Loire and in partnership with CIRVA.

These sprouted potato-shaped sculptures each diffuse a scent that catalogs our digital behaviors: Chat, Exchange, Hunt and Pure. These diffusers reveal our navigations, actions and commitments in the metaverse, rhizomizing and parasitizing the exhibition space transformed into a data center. Guardian Angels are activated at every mirror hour, virtual legend or true numerology, supposed to give us clues to guide our actions and thoughts. These angelic potatoes certainly don’t embody protection, but rather a representation of the digital industries and the algorithms that drive our digital behavior.
